Itinerary

  1. 【1DAY Tour】You will take a shuttle bus to brings you into the highlands surrounding Mt. Fuji. The ride to Subashiri 5th Station gradually climbs in elevation, offering atmospheric views of forests and, on clear days, Mt. Fuji’s majestic peak. The crisp mountain air and peaceful setting mark the beginning of your hiking adventure. This is your starting point for the hike. Subashiri 5th Station is known for its less crowded and more natural surroundings compared to the more popular Yoshida Trail. It offers restroom facilities, trail signage, and a serene atmosphere beneath the towering trees of the Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park. This station is the entry to the Subashiri Trail, regarded for its gradual incline and lush alpine forest.
  2. 【1DAY Tour】 The hike ascends through a mystical larch forest, gradually giving way to volcanic terrain as you climb above the treeline. This section is around 900 meters of elevation gain and takes approximately 4–5 hours. Along the way, you’ll see striking rock formations, moss-covered trees, and panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and, on clear days, the Pacific Ocean. The peacefulness and fresh mountain air make the ascent deeply rewarding. (5h 0min)
  3. 【1DAY Tour】 Upon reaching the 7th Station, you’ll be standing nearly 3,000 meters above sea level. This high-altitude rest point provides magnificent views of the landscape below and the remaining peaks above. Though not the summit, this station gives you the sense of conquering the mountain, with far fewer hikers and a genuine wilderness feel. It’s an ideal spot for rest, snacks, and memorable photos before your descent. As you begin your descent, you’ll enter the unique Sunabashiri zone, where fine volcanic sand allows for a light, springy descent—a fun and rare feature only found on the Subashiri Trail. Hikers often refer to this section as the “sand run” because of the natural cushioning that makes going downhill easier and quicker. (3h 0min)
  4. 【1DAY Tour】 Near the end of your descent, you’ll pass Komitake Shrine, a quiet, spiritual stop nestled on the mountainside. The shrine is dedicated to mountain spirits and offers a peaceful resting place. It also marks a transition point from the higher alpine terrain back into the forested areas near the 5th Station. (10 min)
