Affiliate Disclosure

CruiseCompass is an independent cruise information and comparison site based in the United Kingdom. Some links on this site are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you click through and make a booking. This page explains how that works and why it does not affect what you read here.

What is an affiliate link?

An affiliate link is a tracked web address. When you click one and go on to book a cruise or visit an operator's website, the cruise line or booking platform can see that you arrived via CruiseCompass. If a booking is completed within an agreed window (typically 30 days), we receive a small percentage of the booking value as commission.

The commission is paid by the cruise line or affiliate network — not by you. You pay exactly the same price you would if you typed the cruise line's address directly into your browser.

Affiliate links on CruiseCompass are labelled with the text “Affiliate link” wherever they appear, so you always know before you click.

Which networks and operators?

We work with a small number of established affiliate networks and cruise operators. Where a cruise line has an active affiliate programme we use tracked links; where it does not, we link to the operator's public website without any tracking. We also participate in the Amazon Associates UK programme for product recommendations in our guides.

We do not disclose individual commission rates, as these are commercially confidential and vary by programme.

Does it cost you anything extra?

No. Affiliate commissions are a commercial arrangement between CruiseCompass and the cruise line or network. You will never pay more by booking through a link on this site than you would by going direct.

Does affiliate income influence our recommendations?

No. Our editorial team selects cruises and cruise lines to feature on the basis of quality, relevance to our readers, and independent assessment — not on the basis of which lines pay us commission. We cover cruise lines that have no affiliate programme at all, and we include honest watch-outs and criticism of lines where it is warranted. Affiliate income supports the running costs of the site; it does not buy editorial coverage or positive reviews.

If you have any doubts, our editorial policy sets out in full how we research and write our content.

Amazon Associates disclosure

As an Amazon Associate, CruiseCompass earns from qualifying purchases. Some links to products on Amazon UK are affiliate links; the same independence and labelling rules apply as for cruise affiliates.

How does the tracking work?

When you click an affiliate link, your browser is redirected to the affiliate network's tracking server, which records the click and then forwards you to the cruise line's website. The network records a cookie on your device so that, if you complete a booking within the tracking window, the sale can be attributed to CruiseCompass. We do not see your personal details, payment information, or booking confirmation. We receive only aggregated commission reports from the network.

You can opt out of affiliate tracking by declining statistics cookies when the cookie banner appears, or by adjusting your consent preferences at any time via the link in the footer. If you opt out, you will still be able to use CruiseCompass and follow links to cruise lines — the link will simply not be tracked.
