Itinerary

  1. Millionaires Viewpoint (as it's known to the locals) is one of the most beautiful views in the Highlands. We often stop here and enjoy a breakfast whisky paired with chocolate. (15 min)
  2. Atlantic Salmon can often be seen leaping the falls but even if the salmon aren't leaping this is an absolutely beautiful stop to take in the air and appreciate the rugged natural beauty of the Scottish Highlands. (30 min)
  3. Dunrobin Castle & Gardens castle looks like it is straight out of a fairy-tale and set in the Scottish Highlands it looks magnificent. The Sutherland family, owners of Dunrobin Castle, allow guest to wander through many of its beautiful rooms which look like they have been frozen in time. The falconry display is often a highlight - Andy (the Falconer) has been working with birds of prey for over 25 years and his knowledge and passion shine throughout his presentation. Dunrobin Castle also has magnificent gardens a wonderfully unique museum and taxidermy collection.  A visit to the Scottish Highlands wouldn't be complete without visiting Dunrobin Castle & Gardens. (2h 0min)
  4. Carn Liath is only a 2 minute drive north of Dunrobin Castle and is a fine example of a broch – a type of fortification found only in Scotland. It also offers great views of Dunorbin Castle (30 min)
  5. The adventure then heads south through Golspie and via Loch Fleet to Dornoch one of Scotland's most picturesque towns. Dornoch is home to a stunning golden sandy beach and a world class golf course but even without these things it just takes you to another time altogether. For those looking to buy souvenirs there are lots of quirky little shops selling everything from tweeds and cashmere to locally made, hand-crafted gifts, jewellery and works of art. Dornoch Cathedral also draws lots of visitors with a collection of beautiful stained glass windows. Dornoch is also a great place to stop for lunch with lots of options including a local bakery, a patisserie, a seafood truck on the beach, Milk & Honey and the Dornoch Castle Hotel which features an award winning whisky bar. (1h 0min)
  6. Fantastic visitor centre featuring a short movie about the distillery and the option to purchase drams at their bar. We can also phone ahead and book a tour at Glenmorangie for those interested in seeing how single malt scotch whisky is produced. Tours priced from £20pp. (1h 0min)
  7. Often on our way back to Inverness we stop in at The Black Isle Brewery where they will tell you all about their journey from humble beginnings to producing some of the best beers in Scotland. You will also be able try some delicious beer and if you want to buy a few cans to take back to you hotel or AirBnB you can do that too. Awesome beer, awesome people!! (30 min)
