Itinerary
- On this town, we will have a walking tour through the cobblestone street visiting: 1. Food market, stop for tasting local fruits and special cheese and candy of banana and guava. 2. - Explore and discover the Talvis or Danneman cigar factory, from the beginning of production to tasting ready cigars, see the production step by step. Reconcavo is famous for planting the best tobacco in Brazil and in the world. On this stop, you will see the hand maker working in the process of making it, and if you want to put your hand on it please don't hesitate (fee charged to make your own cigar R$ 75 per person). - Lunch in a farm of the region, one of the most delicious culinary of the city of Cachoeira with a panoramic view of the whole city. when it's not opened we will have a lunch at the catholic convent of carmo in the city of Cachoeira (1h 30min)
- This historic building in a colonial-style was once the headquarters of the Legal Government of Bahia, still Province. It was there that Dom Pedro I was acclaimed Regent and Defender of Brazil in 1822. Today it houses a museum and gallery on the ground floor, inside the original cells. we will go inside depedind of the city hall emplyeers schedule. (20 min)
- The Third Order of Carmel was founded in Cachoeira in the year 1691, being practically contemporary to the convent. we will walk along with the cobbled stones and enjoy the main square, stop for a photo and not go inside of the building that is still in restoration. when the Restauration is done and if you want to come inside will be charged 10 BRL per person (45 min)
- We will visit an Afro-Catholic religious confraternity consisting only of black women, learn how the resistance turns it very special sorority of preservation of many belives through centuries. (40 min) Admission included
- Created in 1975 to preserve and show the world an artist's love for woodcutting and Bahia, the Foundation develops its museological and social work in interaction with the community. The visiting inside is depending on the schedule from the foundation employeer. (20 min)
