Chania old town and around private tour (price for group of 6)

This is a private tour with a 7-seater van (price for 6 persons). We are not allowed to walk or guide in the old town due to license restrictions. We will drive around the city for 2 hours and visit various sites, then will drop you off at Chania old town to spend 2 hours to wander around the picturesque alleys and have lunch. Will explain the culture and traditions and how they formed the modern day city of Chania. Chania's Old Town is being inhabited since the ancient times. It has always been a place of prosperity and growth, influenced by the various invaders and the different cultures which shaped the modern city of Chania. Our guides are fluent in English, locals and love sharing knowledge. Travellers could optionally do wine tasting, visit a beach, a gorge or have lunch. In this case there might be some modifications to the tour locations to visit.

Itinerary

1. Will drop you off at Talos square on the west side of Chania old town. We are not allowed to walk or guide in the old town due to license restrictions. You will have around 2 hours available to walk on your own around in the picturesque alleys, explore the town, shop or have lunch. (2h 0min)
2. Visit the Commonwealth Cemetery, its very well taken care of with nice view of Souda bay. Most soldiers buried date from the Battle of Crete in WW2 (20th May to 1st June 1941) (10 min)
3. Enjoy panoramic view of Chania town. (10 min)
4. Visit the archaeological excavations of the Minoan town of Chania (dating from 3000BC) at Kastelli hill (10 min)
5. Visit the Grocery Store and have free tasting of olive oil, honey and other delicacies. (20 min)
6. Optional visit of Etz Hayyim Synagogue in the old town, for those interested. Opening times vary depending on holidays and time of year. Weekends is closed. (15 min)
7. This is a small fortress with panoramic view of Chania. Its the home of the Naval museum. It has the best view of the lighthouse and old town. (5 min)
