Itinerary

2. We now ascend the steps onto the famous Chester City Walls as we continue our guided tour. See the original Roman stonework, showcasing nearly 2,000 years of history, whilst passing iconic landmarks like the Eastgate Clock.
3. As we walk along the Chester walls. we become parallel to the River Dee where you can marvel at the sparkling river, with occasional glimpses of wildlife such as herons and kingfishers. Capture stunning shots with your cameras so that you can show you friends our local history.
4. Here we see some of the oldest buildings in Chester dating from Tudor times all the way through to Georgian. See where King Charles I had his last meal in Chester before escaping into Wales. Spot Georgian era Tax Evasion and more! (10 min)
5. Step back in time as you explore the unique and historic Chester Rows, a one-of-a-kind shopping and architectural marvel dating back to the medieval era. Wander through the famous two-level covered walkways lines with boutique shops, cafes nd artisan stalls. Take in the stunning black and white timber framed buildings that create a picture-perfect setting, many dating back to the 13th and 14th centuries. We see more superb architecture as we head to the centre of the city. (10 min)
6. The Centre of the City of Chester, a historic meeting point where four of the city's oldest streets converge. Live music by street performers is the norm in this part of the city. Stand where Chester's roman roots and medieval past intersect, surrounded by stunning Tyudor-style buildings and charming shops. (5 min)
7. Our walking tour will end at this point. Continue to marvel at the inticate red sandstone, soaring spires and beautifully clock tower of the Town Hall. You will be close to the Visitor Centre where you can buy some souvenirs. (5 min)
