- The tour will begin with a ride to the Lady Thien Hau Temple. This temple, dedicated to the goddess of the sea, is one of the most fascinating and ancient temples in Chinatown. Thien Hau is the Vietnamese transcription of the Chinese name Tianhou ("Empress of Heaven"), an epithet of the Chinese sea goddess Mazu, the deified form of Lin Moniang, a medieval Fujianese girl credited with saving her family members from harm during a typhoon through her spiritual power.
