This tour is a ‘free’ or tip based tour, a concept that has become popular as a way for visitors to get to know and explore new cities. You will be charged a small fee when booking, and then at the end you pay according to how much you liked the experience! Available in English, German or Spanish, with a local and independent guide, with several years of experience in the tourism industry.

Itinerary

1. The tour starts at the meeting point with a detailed introduction to the history of the town. (15 min)
2. Stop by a stunning Italinate building, designed by the architect Anthony Salvin, who also worked on the Tower of London and Windsor Castle. Learn about the history of the world’s oldest yacht club, founded in 1720, which was once housed in this building. (10 min)
3. Sightseeing some of the attractions in the town centre, including the original ticket office of the White Star Line. Cobh is famously known as the last port of call of the R.M.S Titanic, where 123 passengers boarded the ship to travel to New York. Learn about these passengers, and the millions more who emigrated from Ireland through Cobh. (15 min)
