Itinerary
- Hidden inside a small gallery that houses the city’s oldest record store, this charming spot is owned by a mother and her two daughters and feels like a Greek café from the 1990s. Enjoy a traditional coffee demonstration and taste a delicate spoon sweet made from rose petals. (30 min)
- A small neighborhood square marked by a striking mural. Learn about the area’s history and Athens’ graffiti scene in one of the city’s oldest districts, once home to craftsmen selling furniture, leather goods, construction materials, and metalwork.
- Stop at one of the few bakeries in the city still making handmade pies from scratch, baked on the spot. Taste sweet and savory pies made with crispy phyllo and bougatsa dough, with fillings like spinach, cheese, meat, and custard. (20 min)
- Stroll along one of Athens’ oldest pedestrian streets, lined with cafés, eateries, fabric shops, and historic churches. Learn how Orthodox traditions, fasting practices, and olive-oil–based “lenten” foods have shaped Greek cuisine and daily life.
- Let's savor the delights of a classic Greek dish, and make your own Souvlaki with pork or chicken, served on warm pita bread. This mouthwatering treat is complemented by a medley of flavors, including tzatziki sauce, along with a greek beer. (30 min) Admission included
- Visit a 24-hour shop by Athens’ Central Market, opened in 1886, selling dried nuts, figs, raisins, and other local products with ancient roots.
- Step into this adorable family-owned market where a dynamic duo pours their passion into the business! Dive into a charcuterie board with three types of Greek cheese and cured meats! Pair your tasting with white and red wine, plus traditional Greek spirits for a full introduction to local flavors and culinary history. (30 min)
- Stop at one of the few spots in Athens making authentic Greek donuts, crispy on the outside, soft inside. Enjoy them with honey and cinnamon or chocolate in a vibrant, friendly, and welcoming environment. (20 min)
