Venture into an unforgettable guided bus trip towards the most distinctive and well-preserved stave church in Norway. Start your adventure in the charming village of Flåm, nested at the end of the Aurlandsfjorden. This journey takes you through E16´s longest road tunnel that makes way for the beautiful Lærdal valley. On the other side, enjoy the first photo stop viewing the outside of the terrific Borgund stave church. After hopping inside the bus, a rest stop is made at the picturesque village of Lærda where you can also catch a glimpse of the Sognefjorden. Fastening your seatbelts once again, drive across powerful mountains and breathtaking sights over the Aurlandsfjorden, one of Norway´s best scenic roads. Before you get tired of the twists and turns, admire from above where two impressive arms of the Sognefjorden meet, at the Stegastein viewpoint. The trip ends at the meeting point in Flåm, after driving down the last meandering section of the Aurlandsfjorden.

Itinerary

  1. A-Feltvegen 27, 5743 Flåm, Norway. Flåm Cruise Pier. Look for our representative with an EXCURSIONS4U sign.
  2. Drive through the world's longest road tunnel. This road of 24.5 km (part of the famous E16) links Aurland and Lærdal, in the heart of Sogn, and provides a ferry-free connection between Oslo and Bergen.
  3. Outside photo stop - built around 1180 and dedicated to the Apostle Andrew, the church is exceptionally well preserved and is the most distinctive stave church in Norway. Its lavishly carved portals, crosses and carvings of dragon’s heads on the roofs makes it an attraction one must visit while in Norway. (20 min)
  4. Rest stop at Lærdal. Hugged between the Sognefjorden, the Lærdal river and the mountains, this charming village is the perfect place to stretch your legs and have some free time. (15 min)
  5. Drive through the spectacular scenic road known as the "snow road between the fjords" and take in the breath-taking sights.
  6. Depending on traffic, time and weather conditions you can expect to make extra photostops on the way
  7. Photo stop - admire the village of Aurlandsvangen and where the impressive Aurlandsfjorden meets the Nærøyfjorden from above in this incredible viewpoint. (15 min)
