4. Porta Romana is the southernmost gate of the walls of Florence. Located on the road to Siena and Rome, hence the name, Via Romana and Via de' Serragli converge from Piazza della Calza from the centre, making it an important access point to the city centre. The door appears in the list drawn up in 1901 by the General Directorate of Antiquities and Fine Arts, as a monumental building to be considered national artistic heritage.
