It’s a private trip move from your hotel. It’s a journey told between geology, history, and traditions giving many unusual details- if you like it, we start visiting Floreal a local handicrafts factory. Go through Curepipe city, we arrive at the Trou aux Cerfs, the dormant volcano for over 700,000 yrs, to admire the “caldera” &the 3 highest peaks of Mauritius, with its 360°view. We move through the Black River G. N. Park to the sacred lake Grand Bassin, where you can immerse yourself in Hindu &Tamil culture, in the site of the famous Maha Shivatri pilgrimage, between the various Gods, having fun with the monkeys. We go to viewpoints Alexander Falls and to Gorges before arriving to the bucolic village of Chamarel with the Rhumeria, with all the explanations of the procedure, tasting the different rums. We move to waterfalls and the 7 colored earths, a particular geological site that characterizes this island. We end our tour by relaxing on the beach and a refreshing swim at Le Morne.

Itinerary

  1. Trou aux cerfs - Tour around the volcano with the geology explanation we visit this special hot spot volcano, looking at the amazing 360°view Curepipe, Port Louis, and Black River, observing the highest mountains and the typical flora and fauna of Mauritius. (30 min)
  2. Floreal -A quick visit to a local handicraft factory where you can admire the rare ability of the local population in the different processes of cashmere, boats, jewels, and stones. (30 min)
  3. Ganga Talao – Through the Black River National park we will arrive at the Grand Bassin, an amazing and transcendental place where to reconnect yourself with your soul and know about the Hindu and Tamil Gods and Goddesses, with the famous temple that stands on the lake, site of the famous pilgrimage in honor of Maha Shvatri, and having fun observing the monkeys that make them of all colors (50 min)
  4. Alexander falls – walking in a part of the Black River Gorges National Park we will find a wooden viewpoint that will give us the opportunity to take magnificent photos and see the ocean reef in the south coast. (20 min)
  5. Gorges View Point – to have a look at the geological conformation of Mauritius, but also the black river district, and the different species of endemic and non-endemic birds of the island- where you can buy some souvenirs too in the little market. (25 min)
  6. Rhumeria, in an amazing habitat, produces the famous Rhum from June to December, and even if it is not the harvest period, you will have all the explanations about the eco-sustainable procedure and you can always have degustation of the different tastes produced. (1h 15min) Admission included
  7. We continue towards the famous Chamarel. we will visit this little village, surrounded by spectacular vegetation, with its 783 inhabitants living essentially for nature and for tourist attractions. We move on to visit the spectacular waterfall and visit the 7-colored earth, a particular geological phenomenon that characterizes this island and which always amazes the viewer. you can see even the giant turtles that live there. (1h 15min) Admission included
  8. After such an intense day we end our tour enjoying a well-deserved relaxation on the beach of Le Morne and a refreshing swim under the UNESCO Heritage mountain (1h 25min)
