Itinerary

  1. Go on an exciting journey and experience the fascinating history of immigration and emigration in the Emigration Museum. (2h 0min)
  2. The Port Museum Hamburg is located in the middle of the former free port on the last and listed Imperial Imperial Embankment, whose structure was created more than 100 years ago and at that time ensured an optimal transhipment between sea ship and land transport. Huge cranes rise into the sky on the wharf, historic freight wagons stand on the original tracks of the port railway, in the harbor basin lie a coal-fired floating steam crane, the general cargo ship "MS Bleichen" and other historic watercraft. Nowhere else can you experience the atmosphere of the Port of Hamburg from before the introduction of the container as closely as in the Harbor Museum, a branch of the Museum der Arbeit, which is open from the beginning of April to the end of October and is a very special kind of experience. (2h 0min)
  3. 3000 years of maritime history and modern research The International Maritime Museum in the listed Kaispeicher B. On nine exhibition decks, 3000 years of shipping history with valuable exhibits, ship models and paintings are shown. Marine research is dedicated to a dedicated deck. (2h 0min)
  4. The Elbphilharmonie is the new landmark of Hamburg. It was planned to create a "cultural monument for all". Visit the Plaza and enjoy the great view over the port of Hamburg and the city center. (30 min)
  5. The Hamburger Speicherstadt (built between 1883 and 1927 on the former Elbe islands and residential quarters Kehrwieder and Wandrahm) has been listed since 1991 and listed since 2015 as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. As the world's largest historic warehouse complex, it is one of Hamburg's most impressive sights. (1h 0min)
  6. The CAP SAN DIEGO is the largest, roadworthy museum cargo ship in the world. Its elegant silhouette is part of the Hamburg harbor panorama like the Speicherstadt and the Michel. Tourists love them, the crew and 45 volunteer retired mariners keep them in good spirits. The CAP SAN DIEGO is the last surviving ship of a series of six fast general cargo carriers, which were built in 1961/62 for the shipping company Hamburg Süd and preferably drove to South America until the end of 1981. Since 1988, the CAP SAN DIEGO is a museum ship, since 2003 also maritime monument and floating hotel, which today has its mooring at the Überseebrücke in Hamburg. (1h 30min)
