Itinerary

  1. The tour will make a stop at Kareigawa Station, an unmanned train station with a retro wooden station building over 100 years old. The station building is registered as a tangible cultural property of Japan, and is popular as a charming photo spot. (20 min)
  2. Hachiman Daijigoku (Kurinodake Hot Spring): Behold some of the largest fumaroles in Kyushu located on Mt. Kurino, which is considered the oldest volcano in the Kirishima area famous for hot springs. See the steam rising from the ground up close while walking along the promenade. (30 min)
  3. Make a stop at Maruo Falls, a unique waterfall in the hot spring town called "Yunotaki" for its flowing hot spring water. The waterfall is 23 m high and 16 m wide, and has a milky blue color that creates a rare, unique atmosphere. (15 min)
  4. Tucked in the forest surrounded by Kirishima's beautiful nature, Kirishima Shrine is one of Kirishima's leading power spots said to be filled with mystical energy, and is dedicated to Ninigi-noMikoto, the protagonist of the myth of Tenson Korin where the sun goddess's grandson descended to earth. The interior of the shrine is lavishly decorated, and the main hall, worship hall, and offering hall are designated as national treasures. *you will stroll around the grounds. The shrine building interior will not be visited. (50 min)

  • Children up to 5 years old may join free of charge, but will not be provided with hired car seats. If hired car seats are required, please make a booking under the child rate
  • Customers are free to have lunch at the Kirishima Roadside Station. Customers are to pay for their own lunch as it is not included in the tour booking charge. Furthermore, as credit cards may not be accepted for payment, please be sure to bring cash
  • As sightseeing will be on foot at each destination, please participate wearing shoes that are suitable for walking
  • As large luggage such as suitcases cannot be brought during the tour, please leave them in a locker or at your hotel before participating
  • Written parental consent shall be required for all travelers under the age of eighteen (18). Travelers less than fifteen (15) years of age or who have not yet matriculated in middle school must be accompanied by a parent or guardian
