Itinerary
- We visit the stunning Godafoss waterfall, the 'Waterfall of the Gods' on our way from Akureyri to Lake Myvatn (30 min)
- We visit the main sites in Lake Myvatn including Námaskarð where you can see the bubbling Hverir mud pools and natural steam vents (fumaroles), the Dimmuborgir Lava formations and the Myvatn Nature Baths (please note the entrance fee to the Nature Baths is not included). For those who do not want to use the Nature Baths we can take you to Grotcaja cave and rift while others use the Nature Baths. (3h 0min)
- We stop at the Nature Baths to enjoy the baths (time permitting) and cafe. (Please note the entrance fee to the Nature Baths is NOT included and MUST be reserved beforehand. We recommend booking the tickets 3 hours after the tour start (1h 0min)
- We stop at the Námaskarð area where you can view the bubbling Hverir Mud pools and pots and the Natural steam vents (fumaroles) (20 min)
- We visit the beautiful lava formations in an area also known as the 'Dark Castle' (20 min)
- We visit this old bathing cave and part of the rift between the Eurasian & American Continents (15 min)
