Itinerary

  1. Inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list, the Torre de Belém (or Torre de S. Vicente) is an ex-libris of the Portuguese cultural heritage and was part of the defense system of the city of Lisbon.
  2. Monument that evokes the Portuguese overseas expansion, symbolizes a glorious past and the greatness of the work of Infante D. Henrique, the driver of the discoveries.
  3. Former thermoelectric plant, which supplied electricity to the entire Lisbon region. It is currently open as a museum, where various events and exhibitions are held.
  4. Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology, was opened in October 2016.
  5. Bridge over the Tagus River, which connects Lisbon (north bank) to the city of Almada (south bank). Opened in 1966, until 1974 it was designated as Salazar Bridge.
  6. Also known as Terreiro do Paço, it is one of the largest squares in Europe. It was for two centuries the site of the palace of the Kings of Portugal.
  7. The oldest and smallest neighborhood in the city of Lisbon, much appreciated by Portuguese and foreign tourists.
  8. Inaugurated in 1959, it is a sanctuary and religious monument dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. This monument is the best viewpoint overlooking the city of Lisbon.
