1. Pedra do Sal is one of the nicest spots in the area known as Little Africa. This cradle of Carioca samba has become a paradise for those who like to mix history with beer, youth, samba, and nightlife. All of this takes place in front of a large rock with a carved staircase, Pedra do Sal, a heritage listed in 1984. The staircase gives access to Morro da Conceição. This area of Porto Maravilha is called Little Africa because it was a point of sale and exchange for slaves and shelter for quilombos.
