Marlborough Wine Region Tour from the Port of Picton

Enjoy a 4-5 hour fun tour with a local chauffeur/guide departing from the Port of Picton with a scenic journey to the Marlborough Wine region. Taste award winning local wines, delicious gourmet treats and view stunning landscapes as you travel from place to place. Each cellar door offers unique styles and of course some famous Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir. There is time to visit 3-4 wineries on your tour. Savour local cuisine in a winery garden café or enjoy a wine with a cheese, meat, seafood platter overlooking the stunning Wairau Valley. Returning to Picton in plenty of time for your ships scheduled departure you might like to include a short return drive to see spectacular views from a great look out of Picton Port, your ship and the sparkling Queen Charlotte Sound.

Itinerary

1. A visit to Makana Boutique Chocolate Confections is not to be missed. Generous tastings meet you at the door. Very special preservative free and there is something for all health types required. (15 min)
2. Wine tasting here for award winning wines especially Sauvignon Blanc awarded many years over. This is an option for a seriously delicious lunch with the wine tasting right at the table. Eden Gallery opposite for a little shopping spree of local kawakawa skin care and art plus much more. Lunch is at your own cost. Wine Tastings are included. They are open Wednesdays to Sundays. 3. Amazing wine tasting with optional cheese and meat platters at your cost if time allows. Low alcohol wine label to compare to their other delicious wines. Family owned by John and Bridgit Forrest Pioneers of wine Marlborough. Both retired s doctors but love wine more! (1h 0min) Admission included
4. More delicious wine tasting for you with boutique selections including Albarino, plus the famous Sauvignon Blanc. Relax outside under the Pin Oaks or inside within the beautiful decor of the cellar door. (1h 0min) Admission included
5. A hub of choice with a cafe, larder to taste local fare like black garlic and chutneys, Quilters Barn for craft options, Cheeses and Whiskey and the world renowned Roots Gin at the Gin Shack. (30 min)
6. Marlborough Scenic High Top views are a memory of our beautiful region. Over looking the Pacific Ocean and the actual Cloudy Bay, plus the expanse of vineyards along the coastline. The surrounding hills with a glimpse of snow covered mountain range or hues of gold and green from the clouds above. (15 min)
