Osorno Volcano, Petrohue Falls and Puerto Varas Shore Excursion
Enjoy the best of southern Chile in this excursion. A guide will meet you at your cruise port or hotel and take you on the excursion. You will visit the famous Volcano Osorno ski resort and get breathtaking views of Llanquihue Lake and Volcano Calbuco all the way from the top. You can take the ski lift which operates year round if you don't feel like walking. For lunch time, while enjoying the view, indulge in a picnic style lunch (complimentary) of baked beef Chilean empanada with glass of red and white wine. After this, head back south to explore the German town of Puerto Varas better known as the city of roses. If time allows, on the way back we will go visit some friendly llamas and alpacas that love to be fed.

Itinerary

  1. After your ship docks in Puerto Montt, you will ride onboard your air-conditioned private vehicle and begin your journey to Petrohue Waterfalls. Once we get to Vicente Peres Rosales National Park where the Petrohue River Waterfalls are, you'll then embark on an easy walk with your guide to a pathway that leads to the falls. You will see waterfalls tumbling over a lip of volcanic rock, with waters turning beautiful shades of blue and green. Surrounded by a thick forest, the falls stand against the gorgeous backdrop of Osorno Volcano, making for amazing photo opportunities. (50 min) Admission included
  2. Enjoy the scenic drive up Volcano Osorno until you reach the ski resort area. Here, you can explore by foot during free time or even take the ski lifts which operate year round. Marvel from the top at Volcano Calbuco (Volcano Osorno's neighbor) and the breathtaking Llanquihue Lake. (1h 30min)
  3. Enjoy a picnic style lunch which consists of a complimentary baked beef Chilean empanada and glass of red and white wine while enjoying the view of the volcano. (15 min)
  4. Puerto Varas You will head back south to the town of Puerto Varas. Puerto Varas was colonized by German settlers and is known for its German traditions, beer seafood, natural scenery and luxurious hotels. This town is located on the shores of Llanquihue Lake and the perfect cone of Osorno Volcano and the snow-capped peaks of Mt. Calbuco and Mt Tronador are visible from the lakefront. You can enjoy having a German beer (madein Chile) or walking around town filled with fragrant roses and historical statues that represent the history and founding of the town. If you enjoy shopping for souvenirs to take back home or simply enjoy looking at the local crafts this is a great place to do it. (50 min)
