Peninsula Valdes & Whales

Peninsula Valdes tour it's one of the most fascinating in our area, in one regular day you will be able to enjoy the southern right whales, Magellan penguins and the magnificent Elephant Seals. Our full day tour it's ready to start every morning from June to March, we will pick you up at any place around Puerto Madryn, and also we will drop you off at the same location. Our guide will tell you about the wildlife, cultural heritage and our local economy. Be ready to enjoy Península Valdes.

Itinerary

1. This Protected Natural Area, declared “Mankind’s Natural Heritage”, has one of the most fascinating ecosystem in the entire world, Whales, Orcas, Sea Lions, Elephants Seals, Magellan Penguins, Maras, Guanacos, and Choiques live all in the same habitat. About 35 miles away from Puerto Madryn, we arrive to El Desempeño, main access to Peninsula Valdes, and after another 30 miles we arrive to Puerto Piramides, where, from June to December is possible to get a boat and watch the Right Southern Whales, and the rest of the year there’re nautical trips to watch Sea Lions and enjoy the landscape. From Puerto Piramides we will head to Caleta Valdes, 47 miles away, and there you’ll enjoy the magnificent Elephant Seals and Penguins. And from there we continue to Punta Norte, and there we find Sea Lions, Sea Elephants, and occasionally Orcas. And coming back to Puerto Madryn we will stop at Los Pajaros Island, home of a great variety of sea birds, where we will finish our visit to this incredible Protected Natural Area. (9h 0min)
2. The visitor center give us a picture of Peninsula Valdes area and all its on it From here we can admire the view of Golfo Nuevo And Golfo San jose at the same time, also we can see the Birds island from this place. (20 min)
3. Between June and December of each year, it's possible to do the whales watching boat ride, here at Puerto piramides (boat ride for 1 1/2 hour, included in this rate) (1h 30min)
4. Between September and April of each year, a few Magellan Penguins arrive to Caleta Valdes area to nest. and about 1 mile from the Penguins Area we will find a large Colony of Elephant Seals, males will be fighting for females and territory, and females will be taking care of their cubs.
