Itinerary
- Meet us at the shop which is a 1 minute-walk from Makishi Monorail station. Choose and pick up your bikes, also give you a quick briefing about the tour and usage of bicycles you can ride safely and have fun! (20 min)
- As you ride up the road, a big and beautiful building catches your eyes. It is the biggest wooden shrine in Okinawa. The main hall is a new building that incorporates the architectural style of temples from the Nara period, but you can feel the history of Okinawa and the peace of mind of Buddhism. (20 min)
- The Shikina Royal Garden provides you a good and immersive experience of Japanese gardens. It is one of the world heritage sites out of Japan and a unique building with a fusion of China and Japan plus Okinawa. Really great place to take a walk in the garden. (50 min) Admission included
- We are going back down the road and visiting a cafe along the way. The cafe is covered in the Okinawan atmosphere. It has Okinawan cultural things such as a red reef, cute protection lions at the gate, and the floor is covered by tatami. And it is the one that is open only on SUNDAY!! You will also get to see gardens with flowers taken care of by the owner and eat an Okinawan snack. (40 min) Admission included
- We are going through the stone paved road in Kinjo-cho. It has a quaint atmosphere and a local community center that gives you a feeling of the authentic Okinawan-house. The floor is also covered in Tatami. It has a big banyan tree in front of it. You will get to take a photo with the quaint scenery and take a rest to get relaxed there in the house. (20 min)
- You will get to see a group of old and big bishop woods. The site miraculously didn't get damaged during the WWⅡ. The trees play a role as a sacred place and people used to come here to pray or make a wish. (20 min)
- Return your bicycles and we will share photos we took while we were on the tour. Tour comes to an end and it's time to enjoy the city of Naha on your own afterwards. (10 min)
