Itinerary

  1. The first of five lighthouses is Bug Light. We will stop for pictures and tell you the history of the city of Portland, Maine (20 min)
  2. We will pause at the Liberty Ship Memorial to talk about shipbuilding during World War 2 (10 min)
  3. The second lighthouse. You will learn the history of the lighthouse and how Portland Harbor was integral to the navy during World War 2. We will walk the breakwater out to the lighthouse for an up-close look. If the lighthouse is open for tours ( it is usually open on Tuesday and Thursday) you will take a guided tour. (30 min) Admission included
  4. The third lighthouse on the tour. We will view the lighthouse and Fort Williams Park. We stop here for lunch. (45 min) Admission included
  5. We will bike through Cape Elizabeth and see many beautiful waterfront houses (1h 0min)
  6. We will bike through Willard Square and make a quick stop at Willard Beach (10 min)
  7. Our route starts through Portland's Old Port Neighborhood
