Itinerary

  1. We provide a specialized experience for our guests, taking them personally through the Fortress and serving as their personal guide. We have appointment times reserved for our guests to avoid busy times and large busses and to enhance the experience. (30 min) Admission included
  2. One of our stops on the way is a stop at Whale park for a scenic walk through the boardwalk and overlook into the scenic Sitka Sound where Whales can often be seen heading to Silver Bay. (20 min)
  3. Thimbleberry Lake trail and waterfall. Our expert guide will take you on a journey through the enchanting Tongass National Forest along the Thimbleberry trail hike. On this small journey we will wind through the forest, look down from the top of the waterfall and continue up to Thimbleberry lake where we will stop for photos with the most beautiful backdrop. The hiking trail is graded and not difficult to manage for even inexperienced hikers. (30 min)
  4. Silver Bay overlook is a majestic view of the beauty of a favorite place for Sitka residents. Surrounded by high mountain peaks the silver glistening of the water in the bay where it gets it's name is truly a sight to behold. Stay on the lookout for whales that can often be seen as they travel through the area. (20 min)

We can meet you at the Cafe for easy pickup/drop off. You are welcome to use the facilities at this location, including complimentary wifi and toilets, while you wait.
End point
The ending location depends on the time of day for the conclusion of the tour. The last tours of the day offer return transportation to the Sitka Sound Cruise Terminal. Other options are a drop-off downtown or at the pickup line for the free return shuttle for the cruise terminal.
