Itinerary

1. One of the best views on the island from the top of what Cook called One Tree hill (10 min)
2. Visit the historical site of Matavai bay where European navigators stopped on arrival on Tahiti including Captains Cook and Bligh Its also a beautiful black sand beach much appreciated by the Tahitians (25 min)
3. there are approximately 130 waterfalls on Tahiti and Moorea, here you can easiky walk to the base of this 100m high permanent waterfall, nestled amongst luxuriant rain forest. Vaimahuta is one of 3 waterfalls in the valley, see how the polynesians live when they are not in the urban area. (20 min)
4. Once used for Tahitian burial rituals by the Teva clan, the waters ofthe Vaipahi waterfall were forbidden for daily use. Since 2010 the gardens are open to the public and contain a host of luxuriant tropical flowers and foliage. Pools created by a nautural spring contain Water lilys Lotus lilys Koi carp, Tilapia fish and Sacred freshwater eels (25 min)
5. Discover this popular black sand beach used by locals for surfing and by the local high school for surf lessons, the beach has an incredible view of the mountains (15 min)
6. Resulting from a lava flow, now full of cool fresh water, Vaipoiri is one of 4 caves, popular with Tahitians for swimming the water is cool and refreshing. (15 min)
