Walking Tour of Split and Diocletian's Palace

Our guides are well educated and generally well liked by the guests we've had in the past. On the tour you'll see and learn about all the important highlights of Diocletian's Palace and it's (and the city's) history. Among many other things, you'll learn about how Diocletian went from a nobody to the most powerful man in the world.

Itinerary

1. Central square of Diocletian's palace, from which you can get to almost all other locations within the palace. (15 min)
2. See the vestibule of emperor Diocletian, where you'll learn about it's history and potentially hear traditional Dalmatian singing. (5 min)
3. Go through the substructures of Diocletian's Palace, where you'll learn about the history of it's construction and their function over the ages. Note, we won't visit the museum part of the substructures, and you can visit it after the tour. (10 min)
4. Main entrance of Diocletian's Palace, where you'll learn about it and see the statue of Gregory of Nin, and learn his importance to our history and language. (10 min)
5. See a bronze model of the Diocletian's Palace, and learn about the history of Split's beautiful Riva promenade. (15 min)
6. Learn about an 15-century Venetian citadel and the importance of Marko Marulić, the father of Croatian literature. (10 min)
7. Pass by the 16-century Synagogue and learn about the history of the Jewish people in the city of Split. (10 min)
