Itinerary

  1. This is where most tours drop you off and walk away. We go deeper. Alaska's foremost bald eagle hospital sits on a stunning 17-acre campus bordering the Tongass National Forest and the Indian River. Your guide leads you through the entire experience — meeting the resident raptors who serve as living ambassadors for their species, watching recovering eagles train in the state-of-the-art flight aviary, and hearing the remarkable rescue story behind every bird. Then we take the trail. Follow your guide through the lush Tongass rainforest to the banks of the Indian River — learning the stories of the ancient forest along the way. Discover the native plants that have sustained this ecosystem for thousands of years: their medicinal properties, their role in Tlingit culture, and the wildlife that feeds on them. In mid-July through August, the trail leads you to the salmon run — a wall-to-wall spectacle of fish surging upstream that has to be seen to be believed. (45 min) Admission included
  2. Meet Sitka's resident brown and black bears — rescued orphans who now call this remarkable sanctuary home — with your own private guide by your side for a skip-the-line, fully guided experience. (30 min) Admission included
  3. Scenic Coastal Highway Tour - Wind along Sitka's coastal road learning about island life, local culture, and landmarks — including a stunning view of Mt. Edgecumbe volcano rising from the sea. (20 min)
  4. ️ Downtown Sitka Drive-Through A quick "get acquainted" pass through the heart of town so you know exactly where to return for solo exploring later.
  5. Stop at Scenic Silver Bay overlook @10min as we exit the vehicle to capture your pictures in front of this fantastic and majestic body of water surrounded by tall mountain peaks (15 min)
